Dowel Radial Deviation

DOWEL RADIAL DEVIATION

This is a wrist strengthening exercise that challenges the muscles of the forearm using a broomstick or dowel. Start in a seated position and grip one end of a broomstick or dowel. Support the forearm with your thigh and start in mid pronation (thumbs up position). Proceed to lift the dowel by approximating the thumb towards your forearm. Slowly lower the dowel to complete a repetition. This exercise gets easier the closer your grip is to the center of the stick.
