Dowel Thoracic Rotations

DOWEL THORACIC ROTATIONS

This is an assisted thoracic rotation and extension mobility exercise. Place one hand along the bottom of the dowel or broomstick which will be anchored over head and on the floor. With your other hand placed wherever comfortable, rotate one end of the dowel towards the ceiling. The goal is to feel the muscles of the upper back, shoulder and shoulder blade engage as your twist your upper body upwards. Keep the hips and pelvis anchored to the floor to isolate the movement.
