Rehab To Performance
The Beginning.
I started competitively training for badminton in high school three times a week. Over the years, I competed in OFSAA, played on the McMaster Varsity Badminton Team, and continued to play in various GTA badminton tournaments. And oh boy, did I ever get injured! From severe ankle sprains to chronic rotator cuff tendinopathies, you name it. I got treated by every type of manual therapist under the sun. Every practitioner had a different approach to healing, but yet all had the common end goal — to get the patient back doing what they love doing. I found inspiration in that goal and that was that, I knew I wanted to help individuals on their journey back to 110% through manual treatment, movement, and education.
The Schooling.
When I attended Havergal College for high school, extracurricular sports and physical education were the highlights of my time there. In between badminton, softball, skiing and swim practices, I would find myself diving into anatomy, biology, and physiology books. I volunteered at multidisciplinary clinics across the GTA, shadowing physiotherapists, occupational and athletic therapists, osteopaths, and chiropractors. And in time, I realized the wide scope of practice and evidence-based research that the chiropractic profession entitled was my true calling to help people. I eventually found myself at McMaster University, completed a three-year Bachelors of Science Kinesiology degree, and received an early acceptance to the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College. After finishing my Doctorate, I also obtained my registered massage therapy license, Graston technique certification, and Foundations of Traditional Chinese acupuncture provider certificate
The Ever-Continuing.
Throughout the years, I’ve realized I have an unrelenting passion for diagnosing, treating and educating my patients in order to overcome injury, sustain wellness and achieve optimal physical performance. I believe every patient has the capability and the capacity to heal if given the right tools to do so. It is my life’s greatest privilege to be part of my patients’ journey of recovery, discovery and empowerment.
