Hello, my name is Iman Banerji, and I am a physiotherapist and strength and conditioning coach.
Who is Iman?
-
The Beginning.
I was raised on dance for 14 years as a child, going so far as to continue dancing throughout my undergraduate career as part of both the competitive and recreational teams at McMaster. Through my undergraduate journey, I realized that building great relationships with the people around me sparked the most joy in my life. This led to me to combine my love of human movement with my passion for relationship-building, and that is when I decided to pursue physiotherapy.

The Journey.
After graduating from McMaster University with a BSc in Biochemistry, I traveled over the border to pursue my PT degree. In 2020, I graduated from Duke University School of Medicine with a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree. I then went on to live and work in the mountains of western North Carolina, practicing as a licensed PT in both orthopedics and pelvic health before moving back home to Canada. I quickly realized that I was trained well for early rehabilitation, but lacked the knowledge for successful late-stage rehab. This is when I decided to pursue my Strength and Conditioning Certification (CSCS) in order to bridge the gap between rehabilitation and return to sport.

The Mission.
I have witnessed firsthand how capable the human body is for recovery. With a combination of manual therapy, education, and exercise, I create a collaborative approach to rehab with everyone I meet. I love to empower my patients to take an active role in both their rehabilitation and their lives. I am a strong believer that if given the right conditions, you will recover stronger than your pre-injury self!
