Hello, my name is Oscar Lau and I am a Registered Massage Therapist, Fascial Stretch Therapist and Fitness Coach
Who is Oscar?

The Beginning.
Growing up throughout highschool I had my own challenges of body dysmorphia. This led to the start of my fitness journey in grade 10 that initially used bodybuilding and aesthetics as the foundation. I can remember that my first goal ever within fitness was to do the pec dance like Terry Crews could. Pretty superficial, but HEY we all had to start somewhere and I thought it was cool. After 2 and a half years of working out in highschool I decided to take kinesiology for university because, why not? If I was going to put this much effort into resistance training I should learn the credible science behind it to train smarter rather than learning it from online click bait articles.

The Process.
University of Toronto is where I began to dabble with powerlifting. Age was on my side and youth allowed me to push hard for training by combining bodybuilding with powerlifting. Little did I know that this one-dimensional style of training would lead to developmental imbalances that caused dysfunction, pain and chronic injuries. Towards the end of University I knew that simply powerlifting and bodybuilding was not enough to live pain free. During my last year I did a placement at a small boutique personal training gym. This was when I learned concepts and principles related to “functional” bodybuilding. The emphasis was on movement patterns and re-integrating isolated muscle training into movements that made sense in our lives of daily activity. This is where I become a personal trainer and fitness coach. To pass onto clients all the years of knowledge I had personally accumulated through my own journey with my body. Key note is that I believe glute training is essential for low back pain deterrence. Yes guys should have bootylicious glutes too ;)

Explore the Corners.
Being a fitness coach was not the complete answer in handling a client's total care in health and fitness. Massage and the power of touch was something I always gravitated towards. I knew it was the other half of the coin. Everyone called me the cat that would find any corner of a wall and start self massaging knots away (because who doesn’t like to press on that nagging spot between their shoulder blades). Sutherland Chan was where I graduated from to obtain my RMT licence. Through massage I have learned how to further enhance my own training as well as for my clients. Now that I have access to 2 sides of the same coin, I am certain that I will relentlessly do whatever I can to help you live pain free, look great and achieve whatever goals you may have. Whether that goal be related to improving fitness levels, physique or as simple as better desk posture hacks.
