Lat Stretch Row
Written By David Song

LAT STRETCH ROW
The lat stretch row is used to improve end range strength of the latissimus dorsi muscle. Start by anchoring a pullup assist band to a stable band anchor, squat rack or pullup bar. Starting in either a seated or half kneel stance, allow the band to pull one arm above your head. Allow the torso to rotate in the direction of the arm holding the band to feel a stretch in the side of your torso. Once you’ve reached a max stretch, return to neutral spine rotation while pulling the arm into a row position.
Muscles involved:
latissimus dorsi
teres major
Related conditions:
latissimus dorsi contracture
posterior capsule impingement
latissimus dorsi strain
lateral fascial line dysfunction
upper cross syndrome
