Irradiated Shoulder Extension

IRRADIATED SHOULDER EXTENSION

The irradiated shoulder extension exercise is used to increase joint stability and mobility. Start by lying face down on a padded surface, you may use your free forearm as a forehead pillow. While squeezing a ball as hard as you can, raise the arm into shoulder extension. Hold the maximum amount of extension tolerated. Hold your maximal tolerable contraction for 5-7 seconds before ramping your strength back down to a rest (again over a 3 second count).
