Supraspinatus Massage
SUPRASPINATUS MASSAGE
The supraspinatus massage exercise is used to target the rotator cuff muscle responsible for shoulder abduction. Start by placing a massage ball on the muscle belly of the supraspinatus located above the spine of the scapula. Compress the ball into the muscle by leaning backwards into a wall as tolerated. Begin the active release by raising the arm to just above 90 degrees shoulder abduction. Lower the arm to a neutral position then use your other hand to pull the shoulder into adduction behind your back. Repeat for up to 6 repetitions and for up to 2-3 different spots.
