Assisted Banded Hip Adduction

ASSISTED BANDED HIP ADDUCTION

This is a hip abductor strengthening exercise that is also used to dissociate motion at the hip from the spine. Start by standing with a band looped around the ankle of the target hip with the other end of the band anchored to a stable object on the same side of your body. Hold onto a stable object to increase your balance. Pull your leg directly to the opposite side while going for maximum muscle contraction and range. Keep the pelvis level by making sure your torso does not do a side crunch during the exercise.
