POSTERIOR DELTOID MASSAGE

The posterior deltoid massage is also known as the posterior capsule massage and is an exercise is to reduce tension through the posterior shoulder. Start by placing a massage ball at the back of the shoulder joint roughly where the posterior deltoid is located and lie down on your back. Slowly rotate the arm into internal rotation and reach down to the opposite hip. From here externally rotate the arm as you raise the hand overhead. Aim to get your upper arm near your ear. Complete 4-6 repetitions per tender spot, for a maximum for 2-3 tender spots. Limit self massage techniques to 2-3 minutes a day, and up to a maximum of every other day.
